New Yarns!

Hey Here are some Halloween Yarns! "Bone Yard" and "Swamp Monster".

Halloween is my son Max's Fav Holiday! Beats everything, even Christmas! So we have Costumes and Goosebumps movies on our Brains-Big Time here! Still have to decorate, may have enlist some help. Cobwebs, Scary Pumpkins, Black-a cats...Oh he loves it all!

Our Community as a whole really sucks at decorating for anything!!! When Living in the mountains, Everyone got into this First Kick off of Fall.

so, I have been spinning all kinds of Fall/ Halloween Yarns....
Keep Spinning.

Current Project!

Hello!
I have totally decided I am the Worst Blogger ever!! I even tried to hire my Daughter to Blog for me, I still suck. Life gets in the way, you know, if you have any life at all! So I bought a Book on Blogging, good place to spend my money, Right? One trick was to write about a current project.

So here is a Scarf I am Knitting right now from my Handspun. Well you know as I'm making my Handspun Yarn, I ALWAYS know what I would use it for, that's how I work. I Love Spinning, for me it is the perfect action+project=done, because I'm already moved on in my thoughts about the next project. Now don't get that wrong, I am a Weaver for 25 years, and that is where I have to focus on a Project for a long, long time.

Well, I am asked how would I use this or that yarn...here is my favorite project with my Bulky thick and thin Handspun. A Scarf, Knit on #11 Needles, about 10 to 16 stitches across, but always embellished with some Sweet Fabric or fiber. Silk, sheer anything that I have in my stash or picked up from a fav thrift store around here! I like to put together a few different of the handspuns to see what I come up with. Something Plain with something fancy or crazy. Add in something that makes it Just be one of a Kind!

Just Sayin'!

Finally Summer is Here! We are so Happy to get a Break from School, Well I'm happy because I can relax a little in the mornings, instead of rushing around getting people off to school! Max (12yo) totally Loves school, they do have the Most Fun in his Class! We are planning to be Beach Bums for the Summer. Easy when You live 15 minutes from the Beach.

This week I was inspired to Spin these thick and Thin Yarns and they Turned out really Cool. Dyed them some sweet Colors. I have been knitting with this Yarn for several Years..Well those patterns are stored in my head, so I'll work on writing those out, and get them into my Etsy Shop.

Goood Morning!!! Beautiful Rainy Morning here! My Garden will love this, already have squash, but woohoo, can't wait for fresh tomatoes!! I have everything growing for my fresh salsa
Here's the recipe:

2 medium ripe tomatoes
1/4 medium onion
4 sprigs cilantro
2 cloves garlic
2tbsp lemon juice
1 jalapeno

put it all in your chopper and shazam the yummiest, goes with everything you can think of salsa, especially with your favorite Beer! Now we have two kinds of salsa eaters in this house. Hot and the not Hot!!! So I have to make both kinds, labeled accordingly.

Here the yarn I have on my Country Craftsman right now, it's thick spun Angora, it is Sooo Soft. I guess I like soft fiber, cuz that's how I have to describe most of what I spin. Using that wheel cuz the Majacraft Rose, well, got a boo boo. She has been with me a long time, she'll be back to work shortly, couldn't get by without that Wild Flyer as I'm always shoving something crazy thru!

Sure like to try Majacraft's new wheel that Pluckyfluff (Lexi Boeger) is unveiling! It is Sure to be good!

Keep Spinning thru it all, Patti

Fiber Batts and Heart Yarn

Just finished the Super Soft Merino yarn, with little hand cut felt hearts spun into it, yummy. its so cute...

I love spinning up these Fiber Batts, they are Fun to work with, well you know I like to add all kinds of things into my Yarns. I thought I'd shoot pictures as I was trying to decide what to add into these Yarns. I listed them in my etsy shop, you can get ideas by looking at some of my yarns there.

WooHoo, been a long week!! You know how it is with kids, constant! I love being a Mom, that's for certain, so it comes first, So there was little time to get anything else done this week!! Ha, that's life.

It's almost the weekend and I feel I need to WORK!! just kidding of course, I'll hit the beach for awhile, with a pen and notebook for the ideas that spin thru my brain, never to be seen again :) ( I attribute the loss of brain function to being a Mom.) It's hard to knit down there on account of the Suntan Oil. I think I just need to be alone and not think for an hour! Just a couple cold ones, people watch. After a while I am energized and ready to be creative. It nourishes my Artist self, which gets pushed into the back of my brain as I tackle family issues.

I did have a Profitable week, but I always judge my successes to What I Created this week!! My brain is wired to the Art! all right enough babble.....going spin, Peace ** Patti

m Good Day Friend, Yikes I lost my curser, Now I can't tell where I'm typing!! Oh well, Thought I'd share some pictures of Last week's Handspun for my Friend. She wants to knit a scarf for her Daughter...who only wears Black, Background in Theater!! So that 's cool cuz it was a totally Black week for me. I was working on A Black scarf See Http.//Seasideweaver.blogspot.com
for a look at that (oops, there's that cursor guy!!)Anyway I was dyeing merino and anything else that got near me!! Angora, silk, corriedale, mohair. I needed all kinds to work with.

So anyhow, I spun thick and Thin and plied with thread and glass beads(black of course). I Love the way that one turned out and will do more for myself soon. The other one is just a mix of everything including velvet strips and Novelty yarns.

My Friend is Not Afraid to do Funky, she has her Abstract Art in gallery in Manhatten. She is all Flair, gotta Love her Style. See her art at Eileenshapleykatz.com

Still working on about 3 more yarns in black, and I have a Deadline.
So Peace, Patti

Inspiration

Where oh Where do You get Your Inspiration?

It's a big thing for me, my mind is always Working, I'm in a constant state of being Inspired by my surroundings. I Use my Ideas as fast as I can , but they can never to be used up. I can't work from a Pattern, well I mean sure I know how, but before I get very far I have changed it to suit myself. I have always done that, even as a small girl, cutting out the material, all of a sudden I do it my way! The act of spinning these Art Yarns fits my personality just right. Sure I spun the most "Perfect" yarns for years, but I get bored with regular, I want excitement! I want Funky! I Love to knit with Crazy Yarns! I like to wear Purple cowboy boots! Life is so Good, I Want people to Find Themselves. Knitting with Art Yarns takes you apart from the Ordinary!

Be Inspired by looking thru Good books, Listening to Music that makes you feel Alive, Really Looking at the Flowers, Smelling fresh Herbs. Life is Loaded with Inspiration, Grab it and Don't Look back.

Anyone can Learn to Knit and Crochet, it's Easy! Start with a scarf or hat, Using Interesting Yarn makes it an Art Project. The Act of Creating something is Therapy to your Soul, think of the time involved as time spend doing something good for You. I hear people say it takes too long, but thats the point with Art...to Spend the Time! It's the Act Itself. I love the whole process. I look at basket full of raw Wool, Silk or Angora and I see sooo many things it can become. Hopefully its the same for a Painter with a new fresh Canvas or Sculptor with Clay!

Live Your Art! Peace, Patti

Good Morning! It is a beautiful Spring Morning here in Central Florida! I've had quite a Week of Spinning, so time to post some of the Yarns! These Merino Yarns are soft and Fluffy, Kept one for myself, to knit into a Scarf.I Just Love those scarves with the CraZy Yarns in them...Nothing Boring about them!!! I add Ribbon, Lace. I'll put those in my Seasideweaver.etsy.com shop.
Yarn Dyeing Projects were all in Black Last week! I was trying so hard to keep my hands out of it, because I was weaving scarves in White Silk!! All the Fiber came out a nice rich Black except the Angora, which is gray!! Thats ok, I like Gray, I made sure to felt it slightly as that makes a real thick, Soft Yarn.
Looking for Knitting Inspiration, try Your Local Library! There are so many great knitting books out there! I lean towards, The Funky ...Anything Goes kind of Knitting! Shabby chic ,tho I really don't like that term, sounds like to much work!!!
