m Good Day Friend, Yikes I lost my curser, Now I can't tell where I'm typing!! Oh well, Thought I'd share some pictures of Last week's Handspun for my Friend. She wants to knit a scarf for her Daughter...who only wears Black, Background in Theater!! So that 's cool cuz it was a totally Black week for me. I was working on A Black scarf See Http.//Seasideweaver.blogspot.com
for a look at that (oops, there's that cursor guy!!)Anyway I was dyeing merino and anything else that got near me!! Angora, silk, corriedale, mohair. I needed all kinds to work with.

So anyhow, I spun thick and Thin and plied with thread and glass beads(black of course). I Love the way that one turned out and will do more for myself soon. The other one is just a mix of everything including velvet strips and Novelty yarns.

My Friend is Not Afraid to do Funky, she has her Abstract Art in gallery in Manhatten. She is all Flair, gotta Love her Style. See her art at Eileenshapleykatz.com

Still working on about 3 more yarns in black, and I have a Deadline.
So Peace, Patti

Inspiration

Where oh Where do You get Your Inspiration?

It's a big thing for me, my mind is always Working, I'm in a constant state of being Inspired by my surroundings. I Use my Ideas as fast as I can , but they can never to be used up. I can't work from a Pattern, well I mean sure I know how, but before I get very far I have changed it to suit myself. I have always done that, even as a small girl, cutting out the material, all of a sudden I do it my way! The act of spinning these Art Yarns fits my personality just right. Sure I spun the most "Perfect" yarns for years, but I get bored with regular, I want excitement! I want Funky! I Love to knit with Crazy Yarns! I like to wear Purple cowboy boots! Life is so Good, I Want people to Find Themselves. Knitting with Art Yarns takes you apart from the Ordinary!

Be Inspired by looking thru Good books, Listening to Music that makes you feel Alive, Really Looking at the Flowers, Smelling fresh Herbs. Life is Loaded with Inspiration, Grab it and Don't Look back.

Anyone can Learn to Knit and Crochet, it's Easy! Start with a scarf or hat, Using Interesting Yarn makes it an Art Project. The Act of Creating something is Therapy to your Soul, think of the time involved as time spend doing something good for You. I hear people say it takes too long, but thats the point with Art...to Spend the Time! It's the Act Itself. I love the whole process. I look at basket full of raw Wool, Silk or Angora and I see sooo many things it can become. Hopefully its the same for a Painter with a new fresh Canvas or Sculptor with Clay!

Live Your Art! Peace, Patti

Good Morning! It is a beautiful Spring Morning here in Central Florida! I've had quite a Week of Spinning, so time to post some of the Yarns! These Merino Yarns are soft and Fluffy, Kept one for myself, to knit into a Scarf.I Just Love those scarves with the CraZy Yarns in them...Nothing Boring about them!!! I add Ribbon, Lace. I'll put those in my Seasideweaver.etsy.com shop.
Yarn Dyeing Projects were all in Black Last week! I was trying so hard to keep my hands out of it, because I was weaving scarves in White Silk!! All the Fiber came out a nice rich Black except the Angora, which is gray!! Thats ok, I like Gray, I made sure to felt it slightly as that makes a real thick, Soft Yarn.
Looking for Knitting Inspiration, try Your Local Library! There are so many great knitting books out there! I lean towards, The Funky ...Anything Goes kind of Knitting! Shabby chic ,tho I really don't like that term, sounds like to much work!!!
